Diane Hamlin is an experienced Postpartum Doula offering caring and attentive services to families after childbirth and in the following weeks as parents adjust to life with a newborn. Diane completed Postpartum Doula training in 2000 at the Bastyr / Seattle Midwifery School. She is certified as a Postpartum Doula through NAPS (Northwest Association for Postpartum Support).
“I am not sure when my love for babies actually began, but I know the births of my nephew and niece in the 70’s solidified that love, which was my inspiration for becoming a doula. Prior to becoming a NAPS Certified Postpartum Doula in 2000, I was a business owner/electrologist; enjoyed work at Club Med; worked in the service industry as a baker, server, manager, and sales associate, and was a child care provider and nanny in the States and abroad. Born and raised in Seattle, I have also lived in Hawaii and London.
When I am not working, I am an ardent student of yoga, meditate, swim, walk, day hike, and enjoy baking, watching theater, and creating crafts. Give me a sunny day and a beautiful beach, and I am in heaven. I have volunteer experience with Bellevue Botanical Gardens, Make a Wish Foundation, Pedaling for Parkinson’s (Northwest Hospital) and Northwest Parkinson’s Foundation.” -Diane
